Hi! My name is Giulia. I am the associate director of international
admissions and a proud graduate of Dickinson College! My
family is from Southern Italy (just coming to the United
States in 1971), and
since my travels there as a kid, meeting friends from all
over the world, I wanted to study international relations,
diverse languages and cultures, Italian especially, and
study in Italy if I was lucky! It was also important for
me to find a close-knit community that felt like a second
family as I moved away from my traditional close-knit Italian
family. At Dickinson I found everything I was looking
for! I received personal attention in the small classes,
and I made close, long-lasting relationships with my professors,
campus employees and friends in Carlisle and Italy! I
double-majored in international
studies and Italian
studies and spent my junior year living and studying
in Dickinson’s
Bologna, Italy program. It was an amazing experience. I
definitely came back fluent in Italian, and I also studied
a bit of French and Spanish. When
I was fortunate to begin my career at Dickinson College in
2002, as an employee this time, I studied German! Being
part of the Dickinson community allows me to use all of these
languages anytime with our faculty, students, language resources
(tables, movies, TV, newspapers) and really helps me during
my travels!
It has been a great pleasure working with international
students, families and schools all over the world, helping
them learn about my alma mater and the U.S.admissions process
in general. I have been blessed with the incredible
opportunity to visit several countries and personally experience
our students’ communities as I welcome them into
ours. I welcome YOU to meet our community, view some of
my past travels and explore a wealth of information on
our international
admissions site. Along
with my pictures, you can review helpful brochures, our
admissions overview and application forms specific to
the needs of international students. Best of all, you can
connect with some of our current international students,
alumni and parents from all over the world. If
you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact
me at rinaldig@dickinson.edu!
I look forward to working with you and all international
students, U.S./dual citizens attending school outside of
the United States, and students in the U.S. Virgin Islands,
Puerto Rico and Guam!
Ciao!
