The Dickinson Story

Calendar of Arts Fall 2007Music, art, dance and theater bring a unique perspective to the world. It’s not a new concept. From the time it received its charter in September 1783, Dickinson College has been committed to providing students with an arts and sciences education that is useful, engaging and progressive.

Two hundred and twenty-five years later, Dickinson College closely adheres to its founding vision. This fall, Dickinson will celebrate The Trout Gallery’s 25th anniversary with a presentation of the works of Toshiko Takaezu, a ceramist whose art was featured in the gallery’s first exhibit in 1983. The Florestan Recital Project, Dickinson’s Musical Artists-in-Residence group, returns for two performances. Peruvian novelist and playwright Mario Vargas Llosa will receive The Harold and Ethel L. Stellfox Visiting Scholars and Writers Program award. Poets from around the world will participate in the Semana Poética VII festival. The season ends with two Dickinson Collegium Annual Holiday Concerts in December.
