Arts Collective

testThe Dickinson Arts Collective is an organization whose intent is to promote,
recognize, and stimulate the general interest and appreciation of art, from both the
historical and creative viewpoints, on campus.  In addition, the following are goals of the organization:

The Collective will actively work toward several goals: 1) the establishment of an honorary award given to a graduating student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of Studio Art and/or Art History;  2) the sponsorship of artist lectureships and invitational exhibitions;  3) the promotion of field trips to nearby art galleries;  4) the organization and dissemination of information about opportunities for students to apply to juried and non-juried art exhibitions, commissions, internships, community projects, and employment;  5) the assistance in the distribution and upkeep of artwork in public venues on campus;  6) the organization of events such as film showings, a Beaux-Arts Ball, poetry readings, Arts Haus exhibitions, and other events in conjunction with the Department of Art and Art History; and;  7) to provide an initiative pool, forum, and voice for students of the visual arts.

Membership in the Collective is open to the Dickinson College Community.  Attendance
at a majority (50% +1) of meetings is necessary to retain membership.  As this
organization is student-operated, voting on financial matters and for officers is restricted
            to Dickinson students.

The Collective is operated by a governing body of elected officers: President, Vice-
President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  These officers are in close contact with a member
of the Department of Art and Art History, who will act as the Collective supervisor in
            matters related to Departmental affairs.
