Stephen E. Erfle

Associate Professor of International Business and Management, Ph.D. in Economics, Harvard University. Professor Erfle is interested in managerial decision making, marketing, and how regulation affects firms within an industry. Professor Erfle has worked as an economic consultant for a multinational corporation in the wine industry and has also done research on the regulation of the oil industry within the United States. Michael J. Fratantuono

Associate Professor of International Business and Management, Chair, Ph.D. in Economics, University of Washington. Professor Fratantuono is interested in international economics, government-business relations, and U.S. foreign economic policy. Professor Fratantuono has worked as a project manager in the software development industry. He has also been visiting professor in the Department of National Security and Strategy at the US Army War College.

Curley '60 and Ann Conser Curley '63 Faculty Chair in International Studies, Business and Management, Associate Professor of International Business and Management (1997).  B.S., Zhejian University, 1983; M.S., Huazhong University of Science and Technology, 1986; Ph.D., George Mason University, 1998.  He is the author of the Dynamics of Knowledge Regimes, published in 2001.  His areas of specialization include innovation policy, knowledge management, organization science, comparative management, and international political economy.  He is currently working on another book, The Great Knowledge Transcendence.

Prof. Poulton has taught at the International University in Geneva, Business School of Lausanne, and the Open University in England and also was Managing Director of Pro Agra, S.A. in Lutry, Switzerland. His research interests include domestic and international marketing, global business strategy development, and business ethics at home and abroad.

David M. Sarconesarcone

Assistant Professor of International Business and Management. B.S., B.B.A., Pennsylvania State University; M.B.A., The University of Pittsburgh; Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining the Dickinson faculty, Professor Sarcone successfully pursued a career in health care management in both the nonprofit and the profit sectors. This career spanned twenty five years during which he held senior management roles in several leading regional health care systems and specialty provider organizations. His research interest include health care services management; and the management of health reform policy implementation at both the state and community level.

The broad focus of her research and teaching is on strategic management and international business. She has two active areas of research, innovation management and corporate social responsibility. She is especially interested in the connections between corporate social responsibility and foreign direct investment.

Grace L. Jarvis jarvis


Senior Lecturer in Spanish (1972).

She teaches courses in Spanish language and intercultural communication. She has spent seven of the last ten years as Director of Dickinson's Fall-Full Year Program in MALAGA Spain. In addition to international administration, she has organized numerous cultural and literary symposia, and created an alliance between high school and college language teachers after directing the Commonwealth Partnernship Spanish Institute. Her interests in curriculum development, combining the practical with the liberal arts, have resulted in the development of internships in Málaga's full year program, as well as a new course offering in International Business and Management. Research interests are second language acquisition, intercultural communication, international management and bilingual education.

Professor Otto is an attorney and managing shareholder with Martson Deardorff Williams & Otto in Carlisle, PA. He specialized in financial and business planning, governmental and constituent representation with respect to Land Use Regulation and Municipal Law including civil litigation and appeals; business and non-profit organizations, health care; organizational, transactional, financing and regulatory aspects of real estate and general commercial matters; and taxation.
