In order to truly build an effective environmental movement, it's necessary to work with other groups. SAVES has been involved with several, one of the most important being Student Senate.
1998
Student Senate Ad-Hoc Committee is formed
1999
Senate Ad-Hoc Committee created a proposal to make Dickinson greener, including recommendations for pesticide use, education, recycling, marketing, energy, paper, and long-term green goals, including:
* Designating a green plot of land, and using less pesticide on campus
* Creating a green logo
* Meeting with RAs more often, and creating floor programs
* Making sustainability a presence at orientation
* Developing pamphlets for admissions and featuring environmental initiatives in college literature
* Installing motion sensors in buildings and turning off lights at night
* Requiring double-sided printing, developing notebooks from used paper, and purchasing paper with high post-consumer recycled content
* Eliminating hard copies of the Campus Clipboard
* Installing continual depression faucets and efficient washing machines
* Reducing sprinkling practices at Biddle Field
* Conduct an annual environmental audit
2006
