Dickinson on the Move - Highlights of the Month
Dickinson continues to show leadership in the debate about college rankings. Provost Neil Weissman responded to a column defending rankings in a letter to The Washington Post. President William G. Durden '71 was named by the Annapolis Group to chair a subcommittee of member presidents to develop a common format for presenting college information. Dickinson's successful investment strategy was featured prominently in the July/August issue of Alpha, a trade magazine for institutional investors. Treasurer Annette Smith Parker '73 was quoted extensively, along with investment officers of schools such as Lehigh, Vanderbilt and Yale universities.
In July, President Durden announced Dickinson's opposition to a proposed boycott of Israeli institutions and scholars. He added his name to the list of college presidents endorsing a statement by Columbia University President Lee Bollinger.
