Dickinson on the Move - Highlights of the Month

Readers of Dickinson Magazine and the Alumni E-News have heard regularly about the success Dickinson has had in recent years. As President William G. Durden '71 noted last year, "our extraordinary recent momentum ... promises to propel us into an even more impressive future."

This year the college submitted a Periodic Review Report to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. This report, part of the accrediting process, is an interim evaluation done five years after completing an accreditation self-study. On Nov. 15, the Commission voted to accept the report and reaffirm accreditation.

This decision provides independent verification of the progress of the previous five years. The reviewers noted that Dickinson "seems poised not only to sustain but also to improve its position as one of America's premiere liberal arts colleges."

Read President Durden's message to the campus community about the report.
