| Campaign Video Wins CASE Award |
The First in America Campaign video recently earned a silver medal from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education’s (CASE) Circle of Excellence Awards program. Recognized for its “creative and rich” visuals, the video was one of only five recognized in the fundraising category for the international program recognizing outstanding efforts in institutional advancement.
The video, first screened during the campaign’s 2006 kick-off reception on campus, tells the story of Dr. Benjamin Rush’s founding of Dickinson in a historical sequence CASE judges called “worthy of PBS.” From there, it weaves together Rush’s vision for the college with the campaign’s priorities and comments from students, faculty and administrators.
“Throughout the production, the interview excerpts avoid clichés and bromides,” the judges noted. “Instead, those close to Dickinson paint a nuanced portrait of both what a liberal-arts college ought to be, and how this particular college—influenced by its unique history—has remained true to its calling.”
