Tuesday - Preparing for Natural Disasters

PAS concluded with a dynamic look at how governments respond to natural disasters with "Preparing for Natural Disasters-What's at Stake?" This discussion of the logistics of emergency planning at various levels included Capt. Horatio Tuitt, director of the Disaster Management Coordination Agency in Montserrat, West Indies; Laurel Ryan, Dickinson College alumna and deputy senior official of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and Richard Flinn, deputy director for operation of the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA).
